Montreal-based percussionist David Therrien Brongo is a performer, educator, and researcher known for his virtuosity and rigorous work. He has collaborated with ensembles such as Orchestre de l’Agora, Orchestre symphonique du Saguenay-Lac-Saint-Jean, and Duo AIRS, which he co-founded. From 2016 to 2023, he was solo percussionist with Ensemble Paramirabo and has been a regular with top orchestras, including the Orchestre symphonique de Montréal. A dedicated teacher, he teaches at McGill University and founded the Montreal Percussion Workshop. Holding a doctorate from McGill, his research explores solo percussion in Quebec. He’s won awards, including a Prix d’Europe and grants from major arts councils.
